ROAK started the way a lot of good ideas do, out in the bush, when the weather turned against us.

After years of La Niña across Australia, and the widespread flooding that hit hard in 2022, camping in a tent became more than just uncomfortable, it became unpredictable. Wet ground, heavy rain, mud everywhere, and gear that never seemed to fully dry. Trips that were meant to be simple and refreshing started to feel like a battle against the elements.

That’s when the idea for ROAK really took shape.

We didn’t want a big caravan. We didn’t want something that needed a perfect campsite, a powered site, or sealed roads. What we wanted was a compact, rugged camper that could go anywhere with minimal setup. Something built to handle off-grid conditions, get us off the ground, and keep the adventure alive no matter what the forecast was doing.

So we started building.

ROAK is about creating gear and campers that are tough, practical, and purpose-built for Australian adventure. Designed for the people who would rather be out there than stuck at home waiting for perfect weather.

This is still the beginning. The first ROAK camper is being refined and rebuilt as we go - tested, improved, and designed properly from the ground up. And in the meantime, we’re building a lineup of adventure gear that fits the same mindset: rugged, functional, and made for real use in the wild.
